Story, Song & Encouragement at Bethlehem
There was a lot of joy in the room on August 22 as more than 150 people gathered at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Jacksonville for an evening with Lutheran poet Tanner Olson and Dove Award-winning musician Josh Wilson. With music, stories, laughter, and honest reflections on faith, the duo shared the hope and healing found in Jesus. Their relaxed style, authentic vulnerability, and easy friendship made the night feel personal and uplifting for everyone in attendance. Guests also enjoyed fellowship around an iced coffee bar and had the opportunity to visit with both artists after the event. Young and old alike left encouraged, inspired, and grateful for a memorable evening together. Women's Retreat 2026
We had a wonderful weekend of learning, fellowship, and fun! Our study of Amos challenged us to reflect on how our own comfort can sometimes blind us to the struggles of others and even contribute to injustice. We also enjoyed a tie-dye project using recycled fair trade cotton bags and natural dyes, an energizing water aerobics class led by Emma Bolyard, worship via livestream, and communion with Pastor Bicknase and Al Clawson, who made the trip down to serve us.
