JOC: Jacksonville Outreach Circuit

The Jacksonville Outreach Circuit, JOC, serves to help newly planted churches, and to unify communication, service and mission opportunities throughout northeast Florida and southeast Georgia. We believe that it is part of our mission to equip congregants for their individual ministries and to impact their world with the living out of the Gospel in their particular context. Pastor Brones has been named Circuit Counselor. See the announcement in the Lutheran Witness for more information.

Giving The Gift Of Service

God has given each of us a purpose and a ministry for which He has

called and equipped us. Wouldn't it be great to find others in the

area that have the same ministry interests? You can as you engage

with the GIFTS website, contribute, and start to give the GIFT of

service in our community and far away

Local Ministries

There are several local ministries that form the backbone of service opportunities in the Jacksonville area. They are:

2nd Harvest of Northeast Florida - A food bank that has over 400 agencies, and serves over 18 counties. Ministry opportunities

are always available at the warehouse or through special events.

Please visit their website for more information, or click below

to see current ministry opportunities.

B.E.A.M. - Beaches Emergency Assistance Ministry

On the third Sunday of every month, Bethlehem members bring in food for the closest food bank. BEAM is an agency of 2nd Harvest, and we are blessed to be able to help out others in our own Jax Beach community.

Lutheran Social Services

In 1979 a group of local Lutheran churches got together and thought they could help the Jacksonville area in a more effective way if they worked together, the result was LSS. Please feel free to visit their website for more detailed information.

Lutheran Braille Workers

Every month, congregants from local Lutheran churches get together to make braille Bibles and a teen's devotional book. They are always looking for new members and are currently producing and shipping 40 books if each variety on a monthly basis. If you are interested in meeting new people, helping those that are vision impaired, or interested in learning more, please feel free to contact them. This is a wonderful ministry that you will surely want to be a part of. Lutheran Braille Workers

Mission House

God cares about the poor and the needy and He expects those that love Him to care as well. BLC serves the homeless the third Friday of every month at Mission House by making and serving them dinner. The sign-up sheet is in the Narthex, and help is always appreciated. We show others our faith, by the way we spend our time. This is a great way to spend a Friday night. Mission House
